Privacy Policy

Who is responsible

This website, jcomes.org, is a personal technical blog run by Josep Comes. You can contact me at jcomes@jcomes.org for any question about this policy or your personal data.

What this site does not do

This site has no comments, no forms, no user accounts for visitors, no newsletter and no advertising. It does not use analytics or tracking tools, and it does not set cookies on your browser when you read it. All scripts, styles and fonts are served from this site, so your browser does not contact any third party just by loading a page.

Server logs

Like any website, the server that delivers this site records technical data about each request: your IP address, the date and time, the requested address, the response status and your browser’s user agent. This is processed by my hosting provider, IONOS, to deliver the site and keep it secure. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in running and securing the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is not combined with other sources, and how long IONOS keeps it is described in its own privacy policy.

I look at aggregate visit figures (such as number of visits) in the hosting control panel. These come from those same server logs; I do not use any tracking technology.

Local storage

The light/dark theme switch saves your choice in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it. This stays on your device, is never sent to the server, and you can clear it from your browser settings at any time.

Links and sharing

Posts may link to other websites, such as GitHub or technical documentation. Nothing from those sites is loaded unless you follow the link, and from then on their own privacy policies apply. Where sharing buttons are shown, they are plain links: no data is sent to a social network unless you click one.

Administration

Only the site owner logs in to the administration area. Login cookies are set there for the owner and never for visitors.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Because this site stores almost nothing about you beyond the server logs kept by the hosting provider, the simplest way to exercise these rights is to write to the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Changes

I will update this page if the way the site works changes, for example if a third-party service is added. Last updated: 28 October 2026.
